We Shipped the Mathematics
Classic QuickTime's codecs are full of tables. Wherever there was mathematics behind one, we found it and shipped that instead: six numbers in place of 1,536, and a 1,155-instruction filterbank that turned out to be a textbook formula. Where there was no rule, we say so.
